A leaderboard, not a catalogue.

FlameRanked started because shopping for hot sauce is a mess. Labels exaggerate. Brands repeat. Heat is described in adjectives instead of numbers. We wanted a shop where every bottle had to earn its rank.

Our method

Three rounds of blind tasting with a panel of four — a chef, a chili farmer, a food writer, and a heat skeptic. Each sauce is tasted neat, then on a neutral carrier, then in a dish the maker recommends. We score balance, finish, and how much we'd actually reach for the bottle again.

Real Scoville

Every sauce in the catalogue has been lab-tested. We list real Scoville Heat Units — not "extra hot," not "🔥🔥🔥." If a sauce says 200,000 SHU, it tested at 200,000 SHU.

Independent only

We only stock sauces from small, independent makers — currently four of them. No mass-market brands, no white-label fillers. If a maker can't tell us the story of the farm their peppers came from, we pass.
